Women’s Legal Centre is proud to present the Women & Justice Forum 2015.
Domestic Violence is the leading cause of death and injury in women under 45 in Australia. In 2015, an average of two women per week have been killed by their current or former partners. Two of those women have been members of our own ACT community. The Women’s Legal Centre (ACT & Region) and other frontline, specialist services battle for funding to provide the wrap-around support essential to keeping children and women safe. Where is the justice for these women?
At this year’s Women & Justice Forum, hear from Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty, about the changes that must happen to improve the legal system’s capacity to respond to domestic violence.
